For a red oak appearance across all areas in your home, unfinished engineered red oak flooring can cover a variety of locations without warping. Engineered red oak flooring consists of boards five-eighths of an inch thick with three-sixteenths of the actual wood on top and a base of 9-ply birch core. The wood on top, like solid hardwood, is cut in a number of grades for domestic wood, including select and better, number one common, and character grade or rustic. These engineered red oak flooring hardwoods come in common and rift and quartered cuts to give you several appearances to choose from.
