Bruce Hardwood - Factory Seconds
Known as the Timberland™ Collection, these slightly imperfect Bruce Hardwood Floors have already saved tens of thousands of homeowners countless dollars on quality hardwood flooring. The same Bruce Hardwood Flooring products that you would find in your local flooring store or home improvement center are made available in this section of our site in factory seconds for a fraction of what you would pay for the equivalent 1st quality material.

While the majority of these products are sold As-Is with no warranty, be on the lookout for Value Grade products that carry a 5 Year Manufacturer's finish warranty.
These Bruce factory seconds, known in the industry as "Cabin Grade", will display more naturally occuring character in the hardwood itself, such as small knots, streaking, and color/grain variation.
Other imperfections are less common, and make up only a small fraction of the imperfections. These less-common imperfections include unfilled knots, slight milling imperfections, and slight finish imperfections
It is important to realize that only a very small portion of this flooring is labeled as factory seconds due to milling and finishing imperfections, and that the most noticeable difference between 1st and 2nd quality is simply more naturally occuring character in the hardwood itself than would be found in the comparable 1st Quality product. We have recommended only a 10% waste factor for these Cabin Grade products for years, and have never had a case where a customer needed more than 10% overage to complete a job.
Bruce carries engineered flooring as part of its value line, Timberland. Domestic flooring is part of the Timberland line and, as far as engineered hardwood is concerned, Lock and Fold and standard flooring are available in cabin grade. Our selection of Bruce cabin grade flooring varies, however, depending what is labeled as “factory seconds” from Bruce. Hardwood, including engineered, becomes value or cabin grade when it doesn’t pass inspection due to too many surface imperfections. This can include knots, grain or color variation, and streaks. Timberland by Bruce Hardwoods through our store will always contain a combination of engineered domestic woods, with Lock and Fold as an option.
Although we try extremely hard to provide photographs that accurately depict our many flooring products, the colors shown may vary in color from the actual flooring. This is due to different computer monitor settings that you may be viewing our website on, image quality, transfer quality etc. Our pictures are only meant to help guide you with your color choices as you make your very important flooring decision.
