Santos mahogany is on the darker end of exotic hardwoods, but this Brazilian wood maintains a medium brown color consistently across the grain. Although not as common in North America, Santos mahogany comes in clear and select grades, as well as in plank sizes from three to five inches wide. If you’re considering adding a darker exotic hardwood into your home, unfinished solid Santos mahogany flooring will give your floor a consistent shade characterized by an overall dark color with a warm glow. Adding solid Santos mahogany hardwood to your home is as simple as sliding the flooring together with its tongue and groove mechanism and nailing it down.
